Auzoux eye anatomical model

A dr. L. Auzoux  eye anatomical model of the human eyeball with muscle and bone structures. Unsigned and dated around 1900. This fine example shows the eye sitting on his inferior bony orbit, detailing the peri-orbital muscles, blood vessels and nerves. The eye itself can be removed from the hinged surrounds muscles and soft tissue to reveal that a second hinged outer atmosphere that represents the sclera, the iris and the pupil of the eye. This is the internal aqueous and vitreous humor room in the body of the eye and the emerging optic nerve.
