‘Felkl’ lunarium

A lunarium from ‘felkl’ manufactured in prague by the end of the 19th century. A lunarium ( sometimes also known as a tellurium) is a model that shows the movement of the earth and moon around the sun. When turning the handle, inticrate gearing allows the moon ball to rotate around the earth and the earth to rotate around the sun. The sun is represented by a candle placed in front of a reflector. The instrument stands on a cast iron base, has a brass mirror and paper globes. Diam 6.7cm. It is in a exellent condition.
