Italian amputation set by Comtois – Turin
Sold
An early amputation set in great condition, I can only notice the following faults: one scalpel (signed Vernetti – Milano) is a replacement, the handle of one of the 2 large amputation knives looks like an old, consistent, replacement (there are 2 “empty slots” but in my opinion there was no instruments in them and they were just the design of the case… also because in that shape I cannot figure out any consistent instruments). The amputation saw is signed “Comtois” and “Turin” the knived “Caprion” or “Capriou. The chest is upholstered in green leather with original hinges and lock. I will dated this box first part18th C. Measurements 52 x 28 x 8 cm.
