A fine Revolutionary War period Ship Captains’ 10 sided single draw telescope by Peter & John Dollond, London, circa 1775.  Signed in beautiful 18th century script on the end cap “Dollond, London.”The optics are remarkably good for a telescope of this age.  The mahogany barrel shows normal wear for its’ age but still retains its’ original finish.  Measuring 66cm closed and 80 cm extended.
