Auzoux respiratory system frog

Sold

Respiratory system model of the frog by auzoux, c 1850-1900. Frogs have lungs just like mammals do. Except that frogs push down the air the inhale. They use the bottom of their mouths to push the air they have just inhaled down their trachea and lungs. This is unlike mammals, which ventilate their lungs by negative pressure breathing. 27 cm high
