Favre haemorrhoid forceps, C 1850


A pair of round dishformed bladed ivory and steel haemorrhoid forceps signed by Favre. C 1850. The haemorrhoids were “fixed” by clamping them between the two closed blades and the resulting strangulation of their blood supply would cause them to drop off. Length 19 cm
