Louis Thomas Auzoux was a french medical doctor who added papier-mache to the modelling process of anatomical models. Auzoux set up a workshop in his home town of Saint Aubin d’Ecrosville in 1827. His newly invented moulding techniques allowed him to re-produce his models. One of these works is our life-size heartmodel, modelled from papier-mache. This model is made in 1950 by the old moulds of Dr. L. Auzoux. Labeled : 57 – Dr Auzoux – 1950.Polychrome handpainted with egg-tempura and a finish with russian fish varnish. It is complete with two parts and the original paper labels in latin.
