Medicine chest

Sold

A late 18th c. English mahogany medicine chest. In this period the style, that opens like a trunk, was the most popular. It has a lifting lid and reveals a fitting interiour, six compartments for big- and seven for smaller glass bottles and original handwritten labels on top so you can easely read the contents. The square and rectangular, in different sizes, bottles are original and free blown with rough pointil at the bottom. Unfortunately two small ones are missing and not all the stoppers are present but the chest has it’s old green felt lining and the original lock and key.
