A French Pewter leech Carrier (pot a Sangsues) by Francois II De Barry, recu maitre en 1712, Paris. See hallmark on the bottum. The doctors used this carrier by the patient rounds. The lid is perforated so as to allow the leeches to breath. In good condition, diameter 10 cm and 15,5 cm high.
