A Carter Surgery set, 1820
A nice surgical set by Carter. Carter was an important instrument maker in London and Paris at the beginning of the 19th C. Some instruments are labeled by Carter London and Carter Paris The lastpictures is some documentationof Carter in French. In this case you find several different instruments as there is;
Toothkey with claws and dental forceps, A lot of Urology instruments as there is 4 female delitators, bistoury ( nice one) cathethers, specula, Klisma, stone forceps, trocars, surgery knif with tortoise handle (some damage of the tortoise), etc. There are some forceps missing. The wooden box is covered with green leather, brass handle and locks and even an instrument list label. Measurements case 48 x 25 x 11 cm. The instruments are in rather goed condition.
