Mid 19th C Rectal Speculum
On application
A rectal speculum with unplated handle and unplated steel tri-valve blade mechanisms, with the original ebonised obturator, Signed BIASION. By rotating the handle the three blades extend or retract. The instrument is in good condition with a small crack in the obturator. A similar instrument can be found in the 1891 catalogue of Arnold & Sons as ‘no. 112 Trivalve, Ebony plug’, last image for illustration.
