Pewter Leech carrier, 18th century

A pewter leech carrier (Pot Sangsues) of circa 1780. Doctors used this types of carriers during their patient rounds. The lid is perforated so as to allow the leeches to breathe. In good condition
Diameter 9,5 cm and 15,5 cm high.
