A rare octant by j.M. Kleman & zoon,amserdam 1154, made of ebony with inlaid arc and maker’s plate in ivory. All other parts in brass. Three sun shades, double peep sight, index arm c. 33 cm. Scale measuring from 0 to plus 110 degrees. Ivory plate on cross bar marked “j.M. Kleman & zoon,amserdam 1154 the merchant. Original varnish, excellent conditiion.
