A tonsil guillotine after Dr. Laroyenne of Lyon, possibly manufactured by Maison à Paris. Instrument made of three connected pieces: a two-pronged harpoon, 2 pieces allowing a guillotine effect, one of which has two rings to allow maneuver. Originally this tonsil guillotine would have been delivered with three rings and therefore it is called a three ringed tonsil guillotine. The instrument is made of plated metal and contained in a leatherette plush-lined fitted case.
