Chenocefalo Set instrument Silvio Clementi, C 1820

Sold

Unique set of “Chenocefalo”, an obstetrical destructive instrument set developed by doctor Silvio Clementi and made by Felice Morelli in 1820, an instrument maker active in Rome. All these info’s are nicely engraved on the handle of the instrument: “Chenocefalo di Silvio Clementi” and “Costruito in Roma nel 1820 da”.

There’s a perforator with 3 interchangeable trephine of different sizes (even if I’m not able to understand the way they were kept along the major central tube, maybe by hand only?) + a perforator point + a “tire-tete” with a working mechanism to open-close it + a rod with a sponge to clean the instrument.
